Hortense Camp

in the Wesleyan tradition

100 Years Celebration: 1904 - 2004

Some of my thoughts and memories about Camp Meeting...

I thought it was nice having other kids there (I was in high school then).

They had awards for events... like sports and creative things.

A painful memory was that I was stung by a wasp.

It was nice to have different revival speakers at Camp.

I remember the meals like good black-eyed peas and grits (foods not normally available in Iowa but gives me some good connotations when I think of them).

I remember that Dad was good-naturedly teased about "pop" (his name for soft drinks).

I and my wife, Kathy, and our children Kristin and Andy continue to serve the Lord.
