Gwendolyn & Julius Lynn

(Cousin of Rev. Frank Harris, Granddaughter of Mrs. S.T. Newsome, Daughter of Mrs. D.E. McEachern)

I was Gwendolyn McEachern at the time when Rev. Frank Harris (cousin) was very instrumental in getting the camp organized and operating.  My grandmother (Mrs. S.T. Newsome - cousin of Rev. Frank Harris) was a great leader in this program.

Now that I am 80 years old, I can remember going to Camp Meeting with my mother (Mrs. D.E. McEachern) and grandmother - going to sleep on the benches with no backs - my head in my mother's lap, feet in grandmother's - most wonderful messages they discussed all the way home.

After growing up as a teenager we all looked forward each year to going for the inspirational messages (and seeing old friends).  Still do go as often as we can each year.

After years, the J.J. Jacobs family included us in all activities and arranged for us to get to go.  The Jacobs family meant so much to the camp.

I have been married to Julius Lynn going on 63 years.  We can still remember lots of ones we enjoyed seeing and being with each year.

We are fortunate to have Edith Jacobs Barkley, who lets us know camp meeting dates, and we try to go when possible.
